The seat occupancy mat is a sensor installed in the front passenger seat. The other names of the seat mat sensor are: "Automatic Child Seat Recognition", "AKSE", "Component B48", "Front Passenger Seat Occupied and Child Seat Recognition", "SA Code U18", "9025".
The emulator simulates a situation where a person is sitting in the passenger seat with a seat belt fastened. To make the emulator work, you need a diagnostic scanner (such as Autel, Bosch, iCarsoft, etc.) to remove the old fault code of a defective seat mat that is stored in the SRS control unit. Once you connect the emulator, your diagnostic scanner will be able to remove old errors and turn off the SRS/Airbag warning. Unfortunately, the fault codes related to the safety systems do not automatically remove.

Important information
Before buying, please scan your car with an OBD diagnostic scanner (such as Autel, Delphi, iCarsoft, etc.) to ensure that the SRS/airbag warning in your car is caused by a defective seat mat. The SRS/airbag warning can be triggered by at least 5 sensors installed in the passenger seat and many more sensors in other sections of the car. The emulator only solves the problem caused by a defective seat mat. The emulator will not solve the problem if a different sensor is faulty - the SRS/airbag warning light will still be present after connecting the emulator and clearing the old errors from the diagnostic scanner.
The emulator is safe for your car's electrical system and does not require cutting and soldering wires. After connecting it, you can disconnect it from your car at any time and safely reconnect the original sensor, restoring the electrical system to its original state. Do NOT cut the wires! The emulator will not work with cut wires
We strongly advise against fitting the emulator in an official Mercedes-Benz repair shop. The emulator is a non-factory device, and most official MB repair shops will tell you that the emulator does not work and try to convince you to buy the original seat mat. This is their procedure for non-original parts that affect safety systems.
The emulator will not work if your diagnostic scanner shows problems with the SRS Control Unit (Module N2/7). The original seat mat (and the emulator) is connected to the control unit. If the control unit is not working, then the emulator will not work either because the control unit will not allow to clear the fault codes from the diagnostic scanner.
The emulator might not work if the diagnostic scanner shows a fault code that states "seat occupancy mat - an internal component fault" or "seat occupancy mat - wrong coding." These fault codes usually indicate problems with the SRS/Airbag Control Unit, not the seat mat. Please contact us first before making a purchase.
Never disconnect the battery to connect the emulator or clear the warnings. The SRS control unit usually loses its settings, and it will require restoring the settings first, which is not easy. This procedure requires the "Star Diagnosis" tool (official MB diagnostic tool) and a skilled person who knows how to use that tool. If the SRS warning in your car appeared after problems with a dead battery or weak battery, we suggest contacting us first before making a purchase. The emulator might not solve the problem in your car if the control unit lost its settings.
